16-year-old steals cell phone at knife-point, arrested

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH (WAFB) - A 16-year-old boy is now in the St. Bernard Parish Juvenile Detention Center after he stole a cell phone from a 15-year-old after threatening him with a knife.

Deputies say the armed robbery happened Sunday, June 2, 2013, at 1:22 p.m., on Daffodil Street in Mount Airy, LA.

The 15 year old male victim told investigators that a boy pulled a knife on him and threatened to kill him if he did not give him his cell phone.

During the investigation, detectives identified a 16-year-old boy as the perpetrator.

The suspect was found with the knife and the victim's cell phone. He was booked and charged with armed robbery and possession of stolen things.

The identities of those involved will not be released due to their age.
