Three arrested for running meth lab

ST. AMANT, LA (WAFB) -

Three people have been arrested after a meth lab was found inside a St. Amant home.

Narcotic agents say they found the lab while executing a search warrant at the Hwy. 936 home of Heath Trabeaux, 40, and Avice Sanchez, 32.  A third man, Joseph Stonkus, 42, was also taken into custody.

In addition to the lab, investigators say they found meth, drug paraphernalia and a sawed off shotgun.

A haz-mat crew was called out to remove the lab.

Trabeaux has been charged with creation/operation of a clandestine lab, possession with intent to distribute meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession or dealing in unregistered or illegally transferred weapons and possession of a firearm in the presence of CDS.

Sanchez has been charged with possession with intent to distribute meth, creation of a clandestine lab, possession of drug paraphernalia and contempt of court.

Stonkus was charged with possession with intent to distribute meth, creation of a clandestine lab, possession of drug paraphernalia, domestic abuse battery, and simple assault.

All three are in jail awaiting bond.
