Autopsy scheduled to determine cause of death of body pulled from river

DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) - The investigation into a possible drowning that left a 21-year-old man dead is ongoing.

The Livingston Parish Coroner's Office said an autopsy will be performed Wednesday morning to help determine the exact cause of death.

The victim was identified as Jacques Pierre Demare of Folsom.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office said it happened at Tiki Tubing on the upper Amite River north of Denham Springs around noon. His body was recovered just after 1:30 p.m.

Investigators reported they believe the victim was tubing and possibly drowned.
