LSU was one out away from elimination when the Tigers finally got the timely hitting the team had been missing the past two games.
Mason Katz led off the ninth with a single, but Raph Rhymes hit into his second double play of the game leaving the Tigers down to their last out.
Ibarra singled with two outs and Tyler Moore came though with a full count, two out double scoring Jared Foster who pinch ran for Ibarra.
Tyler Ross followed with a single to left giving the Tigers a 3-2 lead.
Chris Cotton took the mound for LSU in the ninth and the Tide went down in order.
Ryan Eades pitched seven innings giving up four hits and two runs before giving way to Nate Fury in the eighth.
Tyler Moore led off the third inning with a walk and two outs later Sean McMullen got his second hit of the game and his first RBI, knocking in Moore to give LSU a 1-0 lead. McMullen was thrown out at third to end the inning.
In the bottom of the fifth it was Alabama's turn to strike back. Ben Moore walked to start the inning and quickly scored on Mikey White's triple. Two batters later Brett Booth singled to right to score White. Alabama took a 2-1 lead into the sixth inning.
Mason Katz had three hits for LSU and Tyler Ross added to for the Tigers including the game winning hit.
LSU advances to play Arkansas Saturday at Noon.
