No. 2 LSU wasted no time making its presence felt in Hoover as the No. 2-seed Tigers took care of Alabama 3-0 in their first game of the SEC Tourney.
LSU capitalized early on a Mark Laird RBI ground out followed by a Ralph Rhymes RBI. Christian Ibarra continued the scoring with a single and the Tigers had a 3-0 lead after the first inning.
LSU continued the strong defense holding Bama to 6 scoreless innings without a threat until the top of the 7th. With 2 outs and 2 on, Cody Glenn on the assist from Tyler Moore ended the 7th inning rally with some fancy footwork.
Glenn (7-2) went 7 innings, gave 5 hits and struck out 2. Chris Cotton (13) came in to the save for the Tigers in the ninth inning.
The Tigers advance to face Arkansas Thursday at 4:30pm. Arkansas beat Ole Miss 2-1 in 10 innings just before the LSU-Bama game.
