Funeral set for Ft. Thomas vet killed in Kabul

FT. THOMAS, KY (FOX19) -

A civilian contractor from Fort Thomas, Ky. was one of 15 people killed in an explosion that in Kabul, Afghanistan last Thursday.

Michael R. Bradford was a 2005 graduate of Highlands High School and an Army veteran. He was deployed four times as a soldier and contractor. 

Late Wednesday evening, Bradford's remains arrived at the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport. 

From there, his body was taken to a local funeral home by police escort and a motorcade of family and friends.

Bradford was married to Sasha Cantrell, who was also a graduate of Highlands High School. The couple had relocated to Georgia.

A week before he left for Afghanistan, the couple found out they were expecting a son.

The visitation for Michael Bradford will be Friday at the Ft. Thomas Mess Hall from 4:00 until 7:30.  

Funeral services will begin at 7:30. He will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery.

    A man accused of an attempted armed robbery Thursday night was shot in the process and died early Friday morning, according to investigators. The Baton Rouge Police Department reported Kylin Spencer, 19, died at the hospital from gunshot wounds.
