BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A Baton Rouge couple is getting ready to head to Oklahoma to help with relief efforts.

Kathy and Clay Smilie loaded up a Red Cross unit Tuesday morning for the 10-hour journey to Moore, OK. They'll spend the next two weeks delivering clean-up supplies and hot meals to emergency workers and the victims of Monday's devastating storm.

Honestly, we get as much reward and satisfaction out of it as the people we help," said Clay Smilie. "You think it's all about the people you help, which it is, but at the end of the day when you think about it, it's very gratifying to be able to help other people."

Some bad weather is expected in north Louisiana Tuesday, so Smilie said he and his wife will hit the road Wednesday morning.
