PLAQUEMINE, LA (WAFB) - Police said the man accused of opening fire into crowds standing outside a gas station and injuring two people early Sunday morning turned himself in to authorities early Monday morning.
The Plaquemine Police Department said Shannon Holmes Jr., 19, of Addis, fired several shots into a crowd outside the Circle K store on LA 1 in Plaquemine around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Officials said Holmes turned himself in at the police station around 5 a.m. Monday.
Investigators reported two out of a crowd of about 20 people were wounded in the shooting. Authorities did not give details about the injuries. A few vehicles were also damaged.
Holmes faces the following charges:
Attempted second-degree murder (2 counts)
Illegal use of a weapon or dangerous instrument
Aggravated assault with a firearm
Aggravated criminal damage to property (3 counts)
