Candlelight vigil held in solidarity for those affect by AIDS

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Dozens marched downtown Sunday to raise awareness for AIDS as Baton Rouge Mayor Kip Holden kicked off the 30th Annual International AIDS Candlelight Memorial.

The memorial honors those affected by the illness as well as educates people about HIV. This year's theme was "in solidarity"

The event featured performances from the Michael Foster Project and the New Orleans Gay Men's Chorus.

Baton Rouge continues to be ranked No. 1 in AIDS cases and No. 3 in HIV cases.
