MCSO: 15 arrests made Thursday in 2 human smuggling cases

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Fifteen people have been arrested in connection to two human smuggling cases in Maricopa County on Thursday, according to authorities.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said detectives arrested 10 people who were heading north of the Valley in a van about 12:20 p.m. Thursday

About two hours later, detectives took into custody five border violators in northern Maricopa County.

MCSO said the suspects said they had paid between $2,500 and $4,000 to come to the U.S. and were headed to Chicago, Michigan, New York, Delaware and Kansas.

All 15 were booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail on class 4 felonies.
