BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Members of the Louisiana House of Representatives continue to keep lawmakers and the Jindal administration on their toes, throwing their second curve ball in less than a week.
Just three days after moving House Bill 1, which deals with the budget, and several other bills calling for a reduction in tax credits, the House is agreeing to meet on a Friday for the first time this session.
Representatives say HB 1 and the other bills, along with plenty of amendments, will be discussed and debated as special orders.
"Once those bills are in place, then we'll be able to make necessary cuts to budget House Bill 1 and we'll be able to replace some of one-time money with revenue measures and get votes needed to move it over to the Senate," said state Rep. Joel Robideaux, R-Lafayette.
The House will convene at 9 a.m. for the special order on the budget bills.
