Donaldsonville man arrested for burglaries

DONALDSONVILLE, LA (WAFB) - A Donaldsonville man has been arrested on burglary charges after allegedly trying to sell electronic items in his neighborhood.

According to reports, deputies were initially called to a home on Bellina Dr. after a vehicle was burglarized on May 2. Brad Cavalier, 19, was identified as a suspect after witnesses say he was peddling gadgets in the area.

Deputies say Cavalier was later identified as a suspect on a residential burglary on Highway 1 South on May 3.

A search of Cavalier's home on Bellina Dr. yielded a large amount of cash and several items that had been taken in four vehicle and home burglaries around Donaldsonville.

Cavalier has been charged with four counts simple burglary/theft from a vehicle, three counts of theft, three counts unauthorized use of an access card, theft from a motor vehicle and simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.

He is in Ascension Parish Jail with a bond of $46,785.
