TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) -

Police in Texarkana are looking for the driver of a minivan that was struck by a train on Monday morning.

It happened just before 7 a.m., shutting down shut down parts of West 4th street. Witnesses called 911 to report the crash near Phenie Avenue.

Witnesses tell police they saw two people inside the minivan when it tried to go around the railroad crossing arms as the train approached. The KCS train was heading southbound toward Shreveport when it struck the back of the minivan.

When police arrived at the scene, the people reportedly inside the minivan were gone, but the keys were left inside the vehicle.

Right now, police do not believe anyone was injured in the crash. Traffic will be blocked on West 4th St. while railroad police continue their investigation.

No word if the driver or passenger in the van will face any charges if they are found.
