Woman dies after falling into river near East End

A woman died Friday night after falling into the Ohio River.

Authorities responded to the Ohio River Boat Launch Club on Strader Avenue around 12:50 a.m.  after receiving reports of a person falling into the water.

The victim, identified as 21-year-old Brittany Levy, fell off the side of a dock ramp and into the river.

Police say that she may have been drinking when she fell off the ramp.

Police say the woman's friends called 911 and said that she fell in and couldn't swim. Her body was pulled from the river around 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

Investigation in the incident is ongoing. Authorities say no foul play is expected.
