3 men from Thibodaux arrested after chase in stolen vehicle in BR

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Deputies arrested three men from Thibodaux, LA Friday afternoon after they went for a drive in a stolen vehicle.

Deputies were called to the area of O'Neal Lane and Old Hammond Highway in reference to a stolen vehicle in the area. The vehicle was reported stolen on April 18, 2013, off Mason Drive.

Deputies saw the vehicle was occupied by three males. When deputies tried to stop the vehicle, the men drove off. Deputies along with Baton Rouge Police officers began their pursuit.

Shortly after the chase began, the suspect vehicle was involved in a crash with another vehicle. The crash forced the suspect vehicle off the roadway at Old Hammond Highway and Gloria.

Deputies say they immediately apprehended one suspect at the vehicle, the second one a short distance away as he tried to run, and the third was apprehended about five minutes later as he was running through back yards on Gloria.

The three men have been identified as Dwayne Anthony Jones, 35, Quinn Harvey, 29, and Devin Carter, 21, all from Thibodaux, La.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash had no visible injuries, but was taken to the hospital to be checked out. That driver has not been identified.

All three men apprehended were charged with illegal possession of stolen things and aggravated flight. Other charges may be pending.
