BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Police made nine arrests and took more than $75,000 worth of drugs off the streets Wednesday during three separate drug busts.
According to reports, police were tipped off that drugs were being sold out of a broken down car in the driveway of a home on Oswego St. Officers say when they approached the vehicle, a drug deal was taking place. Investigators found drugs and guns inside the car and the home.
Five people were arrested:
Officers seized marijuana and crack with a street value of $7,000, a semi-automatic gun and almost $2,000 in cash
In a separate investigation, an officer pulled a vehicle over on E. Johnson St. The driver, Donovan Grant, 26, was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a firearm with CDS, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of Alprazolam.
The third bust happened on E. Tampa Dr. and at a storage unit on Oak Villa Blvd. Investigators seized half a pound of cocaine, 15 pounds of marijuana, pharmaceutical drugs, guns, drug paraphernalia and $33,000 in cash. Three people were arrested.
The drugs seized in the third bust had a street value of nearly $70,000.
