BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Three South Carolina pitchers combined to shut out No.2 LSU for the first time this season, and the Gamecocks beat Kurt McCune in his first SEC start of the season 4-0 Sunday afternoon. Starter Jack Wynkoop worked seven scoreless innings allowing just five hits, and closer Tyler Webb earned his second straight save escaping trouble in the eighth, as USC became the first team in the league to take a series from the Tigers. McCune couldn't make it out of the third inning before allowing six hits and three runs, which was more than enough for the visitors. South Carolina (33-12, 12-9) got two RBI from Chase Vergason and both LB Dantzler and Max Schrock added two hits and an RBI each. After a Friday night victory, LSU (39-6, 16-5) pounded out 20 hits in the next two games, but only had two runs to show for it.
