BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Several UAB students took on Planned Parenthood today with a demonstration on campus.

A group called Students for Life of America is on a two week bus tour of college campuses around the nation and stopped at UAB on Wednesday.

UAB members of the organization put out 915 pink crosses at the mini-park on UAB's campus. The group said the crosses symbolize the number of abortions performed daily by Planned Parenthood each across the country.

Callie Diamond, Vice-President of the Students for Life at UAB, said they are energized to be even more pro-life in wake of the trial of an Philadelphia abortion doctor.

"We are trying to expose what they do. A lot of people don't know. They think it's helpful for women who are pregnant who can get help and aid but Planned Parenthood performs 915 abortions a day, 333,000 a year and people don't realize 92 percent of their service are abortions," Diamond said.

The two week bus tour wraps up at Tulane University tomorrow. Fox6 contacted Planned Parenthood in New York to ask for a response to the students but so far we have not received a response.
