Jalen Courtney leaving LSU basketball team

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Jalen Courtney is leaving the LSU basketball team and will look to transfer to another university.

"Jalen Courtney has asked for and been granted a release from LSU," said head coach Johnny Jones. "We certainly wish him well in his future endeavors."

The 6'8, 228 pound forward played three years with the Tiger basketball team. He averaged 2.1 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.

His career high scoring game was a 14 point effort against Grambling in 2011.

This year's season high was 11 points against Houston Baptist.

LSU has an incoming top 10 recruiting class that includes Brian Bridgewater (3-star F), Jarrell Martin (5-star PF), Jordan Mickey (4-star PF), John Odo (3-star C), Tim Quarterman (4-star PG) and 7' center Darcy Malone.
