PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Students at North High School in Phoenix returned to their classes late Friday morning after a bomb threat was cleared by police.

The students were evacuated to the school's athletic field after a bomb threat was phoned in to the nurse's office about 7:10 a.m. Friday.

No bomb was found after a sweep of the school near Thomas Road and 11th Street.

Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos confirmed the threat, but said he had little information.

Phoenix Union High School District spokesperson Craig Pletenik said the students were evacuated as a precaution after the threat was telephoned to the office.

It was the second bomb threat at a Phoenix school in two days. Longview Elementary School in the Osborn School District was evacuated Thursday after a threat was phoned in early in the morning, but students returned to the school about 9 a.m.

No other information was immediately available.
