BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - LSU head coach Johnny Jones added one more piece to a top 10 nationally ranked recruiting class with the signing of Darcy Malone.

The 7'0, 220 pound center is presently playing for the Canberra Gunners of the ACT Academy of Sports in Australia.

"Darcy gives us the much needed presence and depth in a position that was absent with our team last year," Jones said. "His ability to step out and shoot the ball at his size will help to prevent double teams that we faced so much in the post last year. We look forward to his arrival in Baton Rouge. Darcy will be an impactful player at LSU for years to come."

Scotlandville Magnet basketball star Brian Bridgewater announced Wednesday that he would be attending LSU.

Malone and Bridgewater join a talented 2013 class that includes Jarrell Martin (5-star PF), Jordan Mickey (4-star PF), John Odo (3-star C) and Tim Quarterman (4-star PG).

The future is looking very bright for the Tiger basketball program.
