HOLLAND, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A new Kroger is coming to Holland, but it will be the first of its kind in our area.

The new store will be built at the former Farmer Jack's location on Orchard Drive, off of Airport Highway. It will differ from other Kroger stores because it will feature apparel.

It's part of the Kroger company's latest marketplace prototype. The store will include clothing for men, women and children, in addition to a "Baby's World."

There will also be a hardware aisle, nature market, and liquor store with regular wine tastings.

The Farmer Jack's building will be demolished, and a 124,000-square-foot facility will be built. The two other Kroger stores in Holland will close, and their 192 employees will likely be transferred to the new store.

It is expected to open in the fall of 2014.

"Years ago I used to shop in a store that used to do the same thing," said Karen Hennsley. "I think it's great, because I used to pick up clothes for the grandkids, and you get it all done under one roof."

Kroger has also submitted plans for a fuel center to be put in the parking lot, but that project is still awaiting approval.
