MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Montgomery Police Department is confirming the arrest of two people in connection with the city's 20th homicide of 2013. That homicide occurred around 3 a.m. on Sunday, April 14 in the 3000 block of Southmall Circle.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found 31-year-old James Scott dead in a parking lot.

Authorities are only identifying one suspect at this time, Dominic Manuel Gaiter, who was captured in Selma through a joint effort with the Montgomery and Selma police departments as well as the U.S. Marshals Service.

Selma Police Chief William T. Riley III said law enforcement acted on information that indicated Gaiter was possibly inside a vacant house in the 200 block of 10th Avenue.

Chief Riley said the suspect was taken into custody without incident and was immediately transported back to Montgomery.

Gaiter has now been charged with one count of murder in connection with Scott's death. He is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility on $75,000 bond.

MPD's initial investigation indicates Scott's death was the result of an argument.

WSFA 12 News will include additional details on the arrests as they become available.
