BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The Varsity Sports runners from Baton Rouge have checked in on Facebook and said they're "OK."

Two explosions happened near the finish line of the Boston Marathon at about 1:50 p.m. CST Monday.

Spectators were rushed to medical tents for treatment following the blast. There are reports that multiple people were injured.

The coach for the Central track team, Adam MacDowell, is a Varsity Sports team member. He sent this message to WAFB: "Bombs went off possible terrorist attack, no calls coming in or out. Texts only. Baton Rouge crew is all accounted for. We are ok."

Adam also says "There are about 25 of us or so. I have contacted the group and as far as I know, we are all accounted for. We are away from the scene."

Varsity Sports posted this message on their Facebook page: "VSM just got word from Br. Elias. He crossed the finish line about five minutes before the bomb off. He is ok though."
