Stranger accused of home break-in, standing over bed

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A woman, her husband and their 10-month-old baby were asleep Wednesday when they woke up and a man was standing over their bed.

Police said it happened in Nashville at a home on Algonquin Trail in Antioch.

The family said the man, later identified as Samuel Polito, was waving a cell phone when they woke up.

Brandy Parker, a resident of the home, said Polito was drunk and didn't mean them any harm.

Parker said her brother was leaving for work but forgot his coffee and ran back inside their home.  That's when Polito followed him into the home.

Parker said it looked like Polito was getting ready to get into bed with them and used his cell phone as a flashlight to see who it was.

She said her husband grabbed Polito and held him inside their garage until police arrived.

Officers arrested Polito and charged him with aggravated burglary.
