Univ. of Houston recruit accused of sex with 14-year-old

PATTERSON, LA (WAFB) -

A 19-year-old man who signed a letter of intent to play college football faces felony charges after allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office said Deondre Skinner of Patterson was arrested Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies said he was booked on a warrant for felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile.

Skinner had signed a letter of intent to play football at the University of Houston.

According to investigators, they were contacted on March 25 about an unruly child.

Detectives said while investigating that complaint, they uncovered information Skinner had sex with a teen girl several times at a home in Patterson.

His bond was set at $5,000. SMPSO reported he posted bail and was released from the parish jail.
