Gov. Bobby Jindal took a big step in dropping plans to push for a complete overhaul of our tax system this legislative session. The governor's plan, which would have increased and greatly expanded the state sales tax, faced heavy opposition with some saying it had little chance of passing.
Even so, Jindal could have pushed forward. The governor said doing away with the state's income tax is still a top priority. But, he added in traveling the state, he listened when people said his tax plan may not be the best way to accomplish that.
