8-year-old sets garage on fire

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -

An eight-year-old boy will be sent to a Juvenile Firestarter Program after starting a fire that burned two garages on Sunday evening.

Police say that the boy started a fire in a garage with a lighter in the 1200 block of Campbell Avenue in Hamilton. The initial blaze caught a second nearby garage on fire.

The radiated heat was so intense, that it damaged vinyl siding on five other garages and houses along the street.

The Hamilton Fire Department claims that the child also set debris on fire earlier in the day.
