Sinkhole closes road near Franklin subdivision

FRANKLIN, TN (WSMV) -

Residents in one Franklin neighborhood are having to find a new way home this weekend after a busy intersection was closed due to a nearby sinkhole.

The intersection of Riverwood and Arbor drives in the Cottonwood subdivision is closed indefinitely as engineers test the sinkhole to see if it poses any risk of growing larger.

Maintenance workers say, right now, no homes are in danger.
