Man sentenced for meth operation

PONCHATOULA, LA (WAFB) - A Ponchatoula man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for making meth.

According to police reports, narcotic agents were tipped off in May 2012 that Charles Belcher, 43, was planning to make meth.  While performing surveillance, agents spotted Belcher walking to a wooded area near his home on Highway 22, then return a short time later.

Agents found a burned area of ground and meth-making materials in the area.

When arrested, Belcher had a container of pseudoephedrine in his pocket and several items used to make methamphetamine in his home.

Belcher pled guilty to production and manufacture of schedule II CDS.
