BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

LSU returns to the diamond Tuesday night at 6:30 to take on Alcorn State.

Tuesday night will also be Military Appreciation Night at The Box. Servicemen and women will be eligible to purchase discounted tickets by showing an I.D. or coming to game in uniform.

LSU bat girls will also be giving away 1,500 camo hats to fans at the gates.

The second ranked Tigers (26-2) won all four road games last week, starting with an eight inning blowout of Tulane and ending with a sweep of Missouri. The Tigers have earned their highest ranking of the year at number two.

Alcorn State comes to LSU with a 6-26 record. The Braves are led at the plate by sophomore Cedric Walker's .345 batting average and junior Angel Rosa, who is hitting .333.

"We're moving into the second half of the season now, and it's our goal to continue to play at a high level," said LSU coach Paul Mainieri. "We a great first half, winning 26 of our 28 games. Our record in the second half of the season may not 26-2, but it's our goal to be a better team than we are right now."

Freshman right-hander Russell Reynolds (1-0, 0.53) ERA will take the mound Tuesday for the Tigers.
