LSU ranked #2 and #3 in new baseball polls

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

After another undefeated week LSU is ranked number two in this week's Collegiate Baseball Top 30 and number 3 in Baseball America's Top 25 Poll.

The Tigers hit the road Tuesday and beat Tulane 14-1 and then traveled to Columbia and took a three game series from Missouri.

The Tigers 4-0 week upped their record to 26-2 and 8-1 in the SEC. LSU is tied for first in the SEC with Vanderbilt.

Mason Katz was named the SEC and Collegiate Baseball National Player of the week. It is the second time in three weeks he has won the honor.

The Tigers return to action with non-conference games Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at home vs. Alcorn State, and Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Zephyr Field in Metairie vs. Southern Mississippi.

LSU hosts Kentucky (21-6, 6-3) next weekend in SEC play.
