LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - There are still NCAA tournament tickets for sale, but buyers should beware. There are few protections for last minute purchases on most websites.

Ticket scams are all over Craigslist. Scamsters are asking ticket seekers to send money via Western Union or pre-paid cards. But after you send off the money, you never get the tickets. While it is not a new con, Better Business Bureau personnel warn people are still falling for it.

Just when Jessie Isham thought she scored tickets to the cards games in Indy she found out she was duped.

"The next thing I knew we're out $500," Isham said. The 16-year-old scoured sites and negotiated a deal on the phone with the apparent seller.

"The seller hasn't responded at all after I sent him the tracking number from a pre-paid card," Isham said.

The Better Business Bureau said although ticket scams aren't all that common, it happens every year. And once you're money is gone, it's virtually impossible to get it back.

The best way to avoid getting scammed is to deal in person.
