BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals now estimates the state could save $368 million by expanding Louisiana's Medicaid program under the federal health law.
The savings would be over a 10-year span.
The recent analysis was posted on DHH's website, but not mentioned in a budget hearing where lawmakers pushed for more information about the expansion.
Gov. Bobby Jindal is against the move, calling it inappropriate growth of a government entitlement program.
