LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man accused of dropping off a shooting victim at
Kosair Children's Hospital pleaded not guilty on Thursday to accusations that
he disposed of the gun.
Christopher Keith is charged with tampering with physical evidence and
possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Police say Keith was one of three people who took off after leaving
Christopher "Buddy" Jones at Kosair Children's Hospital March 16.
Jones died from injuries he suffered when a gun fired into his upper
torso. Keith claims Jones accidentally shot himself.
Police reports indicate Keith also fired the gun and tried to get rid of the
weapon after the group took Jones to the hospital. It's unclear why Keith and
two other friends attempted to hide the gun.
Abigail Frazier faces similar charges in the case.
Keith's attorney Artie McLaughlin said Keith is grieving the loss of a good
friend. "He's absolutely devastated, and at this point, his mind is more
on the grieving than anything to do with legal proceedings.:
Keith is scheduled to be back in court in late March. Frazier will be
arraigned March 28.
