COVINGTON, KY (FOX19/AP) -
A new report says Boone County is the second-healthiest place to live in Kentucky.
The study by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute compared the relative health of all 120 of Kentucky's counties. It concluded residents of Floyd County in the eastern Kentucky coalfields led the least healthy lives, and Oldham County, just northeast of Louisville, was the healthiest.
Among factors considered in compiling the rankings were the rate of people dying before age 75, high school graduation rates, unemployment, access to healthy foods, air and water quality, income, and rates of smoking, obesity and teen births.
The rankings are intended to help communities create solutions for people to be healthy in their own communities.
Kenton County was ranked #21 and Campbell was ranked #16.
