BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
In what is usually considered a rare move, former Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco is not holding back her opinions about the man who currently has her old job.
Blanco made the comments at the Acadian Press Club. Among the things she criticized, Blanco accused Governor Jindal of purposely developing a tax debate to distract from big cuts coming to healthcare in the state.
"So I think that we need to really focus a little bit more on the real problems," Blanco said, "And a lot less on trying to change a tax system that is not broken."
Blanco said Jindal's policies are putting the state at risk from several standpoints. Blanco says the Jindal administration is ignoring teachers and even jeopardizing public safety standpoint.
"The whole state is going into meltdown because when you have less money you do far less and people are going to be experience great frustrations," the former governor said.
Governor Jindal's team dismissed Blanco's remarks calling them simply untrue.
