BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - According to LSU, the LSU Presidential search committee has come to a consensus on one candidate and have recommended Dr. F. King Alexander to be the new LSU President-Chancellor.
The Presidential Search Committee met Monday morning where the list was narrowed down to one candidate. The board did not vote Monday, they just recommended Alexander for the position.
The Board expecting to consider the candidate at a special meeting on March 27.
Alexander is expected to visit LSU later this week, where the community from all campuses will have a chance to hear from him and can learn more about him.
Prior to becoming president at CSU Long Beach in 2006, Alexander was the president of Murray State University from 2001 to 2006. He received his Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy analysis in 1996 from the University of Wisconsin, his Master of Science in educational studies/comparative educational policy in 1991 from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Arts in 1987 in political science from St. Lawrence University.
Alexander was born in Louisville, Ky., and raised in Gainesville, Florida.
