The Department of Defense announced on Sunday that a Kettering soldier died supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Chief Warrant Officer James E. Groves III, 37, of Kettering, Ohio died on Saturday. He died in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
Groves was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Hunter Army Airfield.
