More than 20 thousand people took part in the Heart Mini Marathon on Sunday morning to raise money for a good cause.
Thousands of walkers and runners showed up at 6th Street and Broadway Sunday morning to partake in numerous events.
The event kicked off with the 15K Mini-Marathon. A 5K, Kids' 2K and a 5K and 10K walk followed the initial half marathon. A Zumbathon and kids activities were also offered at the event.
This year's event raised over $2 million.
Proceeds for the event went toward The American Heart Association.
The AHA is the largest voluntary health organization working to prevent, treat and defeat heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. Events like the Heart Mini Marathon allow them to achieve their mission.
