EDGEWOOD, KY (FOX19) -

A new home in Edgewood, Ky is creating quite the buzz around town. It's roughly 15,000 square feet on seven acres, and crews have been working on it for just over a year. Now that the final product is starting to take shape, the locals are wondering who is going to live here and why in Northern Kentucky?

Whether it's the infinity pool in the backyard, the lake in front of the house, or the custom made interior with Northern European motif, the four bedroom, nine bathroom mansion is piece of art.

Tim Burks, owner of Tim Burks Builder, Inc. is the man in charge of construction and says what makes this home special is the attention to detail on the exterior and in every room.

"Trying to get the level of finish to look like an authentic 200 year old castle has been unique," said Burks.

The project required someone with the special touch to do the finishes. Local designer Doni Flanigan says the library was one of his primary focuses.

"There's 22 layers all the way from start to finish to a hand waxed finish," described Flanigan.

The ceiling in the library is even lined with 23 karat gold leaf.

"This is one of the features that I'm really proud of," said Burks.

The question on everyone's mind is, who's moving in? Rumors have included a Cincinnati Reds all-star.

"It's not Joey Votto's," said Burks.

The owner is being kept a secret but the crew says they're just thrilled to be able to work on a house of this magnitude.

"I've painted in Dubai, painted all over the west coast, painted in Europe, and this is number one in my books," said Flanigan.

Local residents will have a chance to visit the home during the Northern Kentucky Home Builders Association's Cavalcade of Homes from 12 noon to 5 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Saturday, May 4
  • Sunday, May 5
  • Saturday, May 11
  • Sunday, May 12
  • Saturday, May 18
  • Sunday, May 19

Crews also didn't disclose the cost of the home, but said 'it was in the millions'.

It's expected to be completed by late April or early May, and the homeowners will move in this summer.
