
LSU used ten pitchers and Christian Ibarra's seventh-inning single broke a 3-3 tie, as the Tigers scored seven unanswered runs to win their eleventh straight game 9-3 over Nicholls State.
No. 3 LSU (16-1) broke the game open with a five-run seventh inning. A two-run double from freshman Alex Bregman and a two-run homer for Mason Katz, his sixth of the season, highlighted the outburst in the Tigers last at-bat.
Nicholls State (9-9) turned a triple play in the bottom of the first inning and held a 3-2 lead halfway through the night, before LSU's offense finally got untracked.
LSU now travels to Starkville this weekend to start SEC play, opening its series against No. 8 Mississippi State (18-2) Friday night.
