BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
A former Department of Health and Hospitals employee and the owner of a Denham Springs business have been federally indicted for an alleged bribery scheme.
According to the indictment, Alan Pogue, 52, is accused of taking $50,000 in bribes from Glenn Johnson, 71, over a two-year period in exchange for lists of people who were applying for permits to install septic tanks.
Pogue worked as a sanitation program coordinator inspecting residential and commercial septic systems.
According to reports, Johnson was a licensed installer of septic tanks from 2008 to 2011. He operated a business in Denham Springs by the name of Stafford Concrete.
Pogue faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
