PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Two men were arrested after police said one of them assaulted a TriMet bus driver on Sunday afternoon.
A representative with the Portland Police Bureau said that a bus driver was punched in the face before the suspects left the area.
The bus driver told police the suspect and another man got on the bus with a dog but the driver told them they couldn't bring it on.
The suspects claimed it was a service animal, so the driver allowed them to ride, but it was when the men got off the bus that one of them allegedly punched the driver in the face.
Police searched the area and located two men matching the descriptions of the suspects.
Police arrested Christopher Charles Jones, 19, on assault charges.
Tonari Leeivory Harris, 24, was not involved in the assault but did have three outstanding warrants.
TriMet officials said the bus driver did not suffer a serious injury but was taken out of service for the rest of his shift.
