Dozens of students cut their hair on Sunday to build hope for women fighting cancer.
The University of Cincinnati's Beautiful Lengths Campaign hosted a simultaneous haircut in an effort to produce real-hair wigs for women fighting cancer.The event was a partnership between Pantene and the American Cancer Society.
All donors were required to have hair more that eight inches long and free of permanent color, bleach or other chemical treatment.
Six stylists were on hand to shape the hair of donors after the big cut.
All donors received free hair care products as well as a t-shirt.
Irini Sfyris, president of the UC Beautiful Lengths Campaign, says that it takes around six ponytails to create one wig.
Pantene reports that it has donated 24 thousand real-hair wigs to the American Cancer Society's wig banks, which distribute wigs to cancer patients across the country.
