Lady Falcons soar past Curtis to win State Championship

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The St. Thomas Aquinas Lady Falcons and head coach John White defeated the defending champions John Curtis by a score of 49-42 to win the 2013 state championship in Class 2A. This marks their second state championship in four seasons.

The Lady Falcons forced 27 John Curtis turnovers in the win. They won despite their two leading scorers shooting 6 of 29 from the field. Head coach John White said that his team had the confidence to pull the game out. Senior guard Amber Donnes led the way for St. Thomas Aquinas as she finished with 14 points. She was named Most Outstanding Player.
