FAIRMOUNT, OH (FOX19) -
A fire broke out in a Fairmount neighborhood displacing seven occupants and leaving one injured.
Fire crews were called to a three-story multi-dwelling on Harrison Avenue around 1:50 a.m. Saturday morning.
Crews arriving at the scene reported heavy smoke coming from the building. Several residents were reportedly trapped inside. Fire crews say that one resident jumped from a second-story window to escape the flames before help arrived.
Firefighters aggressively fought the fire bringing the flames under control within 30 minutes. All remaining occupants were safely rescued from the building.
Seven occupants were displaced by the fire. The occupants involved are being assisted by American Red Cross.
One occupant was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with injuries.
Damage has been estimated at $100 thousand. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
