BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Prison officials said Brandon Scott Lavergne, the man who confessed to killing two women, is on a hunger strike.

Officials at Angola said Lavergne feels he's being treated unfairly. He admitted to taking the lives of UL-Lafayette student Mickey Shunick and Lisa Pate.

The convicted murderer reportedly said he's being kept in solitary confinement for political reasons and for not showing enough remorse in Shunick's murder.

Lavergne is serving back-to-back life sentences after pleading guilty in August to killing the two women.
