FAIRFAX, OH (FOX19) -
Two people are scheduled to appear in court on Friday after a gift card scam in Fairfax.
Authorities say Janet Allen, 33, approached customers in the parking lot of Walmart on Red Bank Road and tried to sell them Walmart gift cards with a zero balance.
According to police, she then had the customers call her accomplice, Robert Young, 34, to verify the amount on the card.
The incidents happened on Monday and Wednesday. Both Allen and Young were arrested on Thursday.
Allen was charged with two counts of theft, two counts of possessing criminal tools, and one count of trespassing. Young faces two counts of complicity.
