LSU Tigers defeat Sacred Heart ,10-2

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

LSU exploded for six runs in the second inning, and Nick Rumbelow combined with four relievers to allow just a pair of runs, as the No. 4 Tigers beat Sacred Heart 10-2 Wednesday night at Alex Box Stadium.

Mark Laird had the biggest blow of the big inning with a two-run single that capped the scoring.

Mason Katz, Michael Barash, Christian Ibarra and Jared Foster also had RBI in the inning. Rumbelow worked two perfect innings with freshmen Hunter Newman and Hunter Devall taking over to work the middle innings.

Seniors Joey Bourgeois and Chris Cotton closed things out for LSU (12-1), which now prepares for its last non-conference weekend series against the Washington Huskies.
